Linear Text

This video informs us about how technology has advanced and has progressed for the best. Today everything is done on the web or computer. That's where the term digital text comes in. Everything from blogs school essays, communication through webcam are done on a pc by digital text. The video in class showed us exactly how digital text was used.

Many people before had no idea of how to create a web page. It seems difficult but it's really not. One way to start is to use the code of HTML. HTML is free. HTML defines the structure of the web document. There are many free codes we can use to design our pages. Some of these codes are < p >, and < li >. < p > is a structure element referring to "paragraph". < li > is a structure element referring to "list item". As HTML expanded more elements and codes were added. codes that organize your web page.

Another thing we should know about digital text is the form and content. There is a difference between the two. Form is all about blogging, and the presentation of the website. Adding picture, maps, and any type of decorations is form. Content is all the information given on the website. Everything written, typed, researched about is all information which is the content. The title, description, links, and any other elements in documents describe content. Also using content we don't need to know difficult codes. We can easily use page source and all the codes will pop up automatically.

The video mentioned the quote "we are in control and not the machine". This means that we control everything we put up on the web. We create every page ever made, the blogs, the websites, and even game sites. So we are more in control than the actual machine(computer) is."We are the web". I believe writing is evolving more than ever. Communication is stronger than it was before I feel this way because people are not just writing on paper anymore. There are blog sites and local pages where people write whatever they feel. This is letting everyone world wide into their life. The majority of things are done on a computer.

In the article "Rethink schools" they discuss how classrooms are being designed with leading 21st century learning methods and tools. They say they must increase the quality of teaching by giving teachers more time and opportunities to plan collaborate and work with advanced technology systems. Today in this technology driven world, a learning environment can be virtual ,online and remote. Students need access to digital tools and resources that will help them explore understand and express themselves in the world of the future and educators need access to tools and resources to share knowledge and practice with other professionals, interact with experts in their field, and connect with their students, families and communities. When people are connected through technology they can accomplish goals that would be impossible through more isolated efforts.

I interviewed my grandmother about how technology has changed or effected her life she says It's hard sometimes for a older person to sometimes keep up with technology or any new changes. It takes them time to get familiar with some of the technology and at the same time fun to experience something that they have never experienced in there youth. Not only with technology but with cars, banks going shopping now if she doesn't feel like getting out of the house she can go to any store website and buy anything she like and it will be delivered to her house. she says it amazes her everyday how things have changed.

The video change shows how new thinking can create new possibilities.Shows how things can be if we don't upgrade technology. The purpose of this video is just showing people how times have changed. In the video you can see the evolution from old school to modern day.It teaches us how different, advanced, and convenient it is for us now.In this video you see the difference in the bikes, telephones, films, typewriters, music players, televisions and cameras if we didn't rethink things will still be the same.
